Advantages of receiving D L A


Being in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) (called Attendance Allowance if you're over 65) gives you many benefits apart from extra income. The ones I have come across are listed here.




Blue Badge Parking Scheme


Contact your local Council. (Will need a passport size photo)




Disabled Travel Card


Allows for free travel on buses, tube and trains. Available only if you live in a London Council Area. (Will need a passport size photo)

Cinema Card


Allows your carer to come into the cinema with you free of charge. Can be used in over 90% of cinemas. (Will need a passport size photo)

Gives you discounted travel in some of Londons Black Cabs. Again, you need to live in a London Council area. (Will need a passport size photo)

Motability


Helps you to buy and run anything from a powered wheelchair to a car.
